Air Suspension for Pickups & 4x4s

A heavily loaded pickup sags at the rear — affecting handling, tyre wear, headlight aim and tow stability. On Air Suspension supply semi-air and full-air kits, compressors and control systems for pickups and 4x4s. Parts available for nationwide next day delivery. Diagnostics and fitting at our Ongar, Essex workshop.

    Semi-air and full-air kits for pickups & 4x4s

We supply two types of air suspension kit. Semi-air kits work alongside the existing suspension — nothing is removed, and the kit adds rear height control and load levelling on top of what's already there. Full-air kits replace the original suspension entirely, providing a complete air suspension solution with maximum adjustability.

Our full air kits are engineered in-house at our Ongar, Essex workshop — designed from scratch for the vehicle it fits, prototyped using 3D printing, and validated through physical installation and testing before it reaches a customer.

Vehicles covered include the Land Rover Defender 90, 110 & 130, Ineos Grenadier, Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, Nissan Navara, VW Amarok, VW Crafter, Mercedes X-Class and Polaris Ranger.

Is your pickup sagging under load?

Rear sag under load is the most common complaint from pickup operators — particularly those towing, carrying tools or running the vehicle at or near its rated payload. Beyond the discomfort, it affects tyre wear, headlight aim and tow stability. A semi-air kit corrects this without touching the original suspension. A full-air conversion removes the original suspension entirely and replaces it with a fully adjustable air system.

FAQs — Air Suspension for Pickups & 4x4s

    How long does fitting take?
Most kits are fitted in a single day at our Ongar, Essex workshop. A semi-air kit is typically a morning or afternoon's work. A 4-corner full-air conversion is the largest job and may take up to two days. Call 01277 552030 to book fitting or discuss timescales for your vehicle.

    Can I fit a semi-air kit myself?
In most cases, yes. On most semi-air kits the original bump stops are removed and the air springs fitted in their place — a straightforward job for a competent home mechanic. Detailed fitting instructions are provided with every kit, and where a kit is more involved — for example where drilling is required — this is clearly stated on the product page.

    Semi-air or full-air — how do I choose?
A semi-air kit works alongside the existing suspension: nothing is removed, and the kit adds rear height control and load levelling on top of what's already there. It suits vehicles that regularly carry loads or tow. A full-air conversion replaces the original suspension entirely, providing full ride-height adjustability at all four corners. If you're unsure which suits your vehicle and use, contact us before ordering.

Does a semi-air kit increase my payload?
No. A semi-air kit manages how the vehicle carries its rated load — it does not change the legal payload or gross vehicle weight. The vehicle's plated limits remain exactly as before.

Does air suspension help when towing?
When towing, nose weight on the towbar compresses the rear suspension. A semi-air kit lets you adjust air spring pressure to restore the vehicle's normal ride height under that load, correcting headlight aim and rear-end sag.

    What's included in a semi-air kit?

Air springs, mounting brackets, air lines and fixings. Inflation and control options are supplied separately — from simple manual inflation valves through compressor and gauge kits to the On Air Active automatic levelling system. See our [Compressors & Kits] and [Gauges & Kits] pages for options.

Not sure which kit suits your vehicle?

Pickup and 4x4 air suspension kits vary significantly by vehicle — chassis geometry, axle configuration and intended use all affect which solution is appropriate. If you're unsure whether you need a semi-air or full-air kit, or whether we cover your specific model and year, contact us before ordering.
