Ford Ranger Rear Semi-Air Suspension Kit — 2011 to 2018 (AKS2018Y)
 
The Ford Ranger is built for work — but its rear suspension is calibrated for an unladen vehicle, not a loaded one. Under payload, the rear squats, handling can suffer as can towing stability. This is the aftermarket suspension upgrade.
 
A rear semi-air suspension kit supplied by On Air Suspension for the Ford Ranger T6 platform, covering 2011 to 2018 model years. The kit works alongside the Ranger's existing rear suspension rather than replacing it. The existing bump stop is removed and the air spring fitted in its place using the supplied brackets, providing on-demand load support that can be adjusted to suit varying payloads in the pickup bed.

What it does:
 
Pickup trucks carry variable loads almost entirely in the bed — the rear suspension takes the full brunt of this. Under load, the rear sits lower, affecting ride quality, handling and towing stability. This kit addresses all of that without altering the vehicle's legal kerb weight or GVW.
 
Load levelling — keeps the vehicle level whether loaded or empty
Roll stability — increased roll stiffness reduces body lean when passing high-sided vehicles or cornering under load
Rear height control — provides a small amount of rear lift on demand, useful for ramp angles, ferry embarkation and steep inclines
Towing stability — reduces pitching and improves brake effectiveness under tow
 
The air springs operate independently, allowing left-to-right adjustment for off-centre loads.
 
Inflation & Controls
 
This kit is supplied for manual inflation as standard — air is introduced via a standard tyre inflator or workshop compressor through the included inflation panel. No on-vehicle compressor is required for basic operation.
 
For a more convenient setup, we supply two compressor kits as optional additions:
 
PCP1014Z — Compressor and single gauge kit. Air springs are linked — both sides inflate together.
PCP1016Z — Compressor and dual gauge kit. Independent left and right inflation for off-centre load adjustment.
 
For fully automatic load levelling, the kit is compatible with the On Air Active Advanced Air Suspension Control System (CKA9001Z). On Air Active uses a single height sensor to continuously monitor and adjust ride height, maintaining the ideal level at any legal payload. The system also includes a lowering function for improved access when required.
